Prep Time 15 minutes mins
Cook Time 20 minutes mins
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or breasts), cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried thyme or Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt (plus more to taste)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan (optional)
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice (optional for brightness)
Pat the chicken pieces dry with a clean towel. This helps the coating stick and the surface crisp up in the air fryer.
In a bowl, toss the chicken with olive oil until evenly coated.
Add garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, thyme or Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. If you like a little sharpness, add the lemon juice. Mix well so every piece has a thin layer of seasoned coating.
If you’re using Parmesan, sprinkle it over the mix and toss lightly to distribute. This adds a subtle nutty flavor and a touch of crunch.
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes, if your model requires preheating.
Arrange the chicken pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Don’t overcrowd; cook in batches if needed.
Air fry for 8–10 minutes, then flip and cook for another 5–7 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature 165°F/74°C) and the edges are golden and crisp.
Remove from the air fryer and let rest for a minute. Serve with lemon wedges or a light herb drizzle if you like.
